Single-arch railway bridge over road, opened 1853. Coursed rock-faced cut-limestone walls (including to tapered splayed abutment walls) with cut-limestone coping supporting blocking course having replacement steel railings over. Single segmental arch with cut-limestone stringcourse to spring of arch, limestone ashlar voussoirs, and roughcast soffits. Sited spanning road.

An elegantly-appointed modest-scale bridge forming an important element of the railway transport heritage of County Kilkenny on account of the associations with the development of the Waterford and Maryborough [Portlaoise] Branch extension of the Great Southern and Western Railway line by the Waterford and Kilkenny Railway Company. Robust rock-faced detailing enlivens the architectural design aesthetic of the composition while refined dressings with particular emphasis on the elegantly-composed arch display expert stone masonry.
