Roofless ruinous remains of boathouse, built c. 1825. Rubble stone walls with gables and cut limestone quoins. Segmental-arched carriage opening with cut limestone stepped surround comprising voussoirs, keystone and block-and-start surround. Segmental-arched window opening with red brick voussoirs and block-and-start surround. Concrete boat slip.

Carefully designed and executed segmental arches in both brick and stone adding interest to utilitarian structure. Evidence of highly skilled craftsmanship in stone cutting and carving. Visible from the piers, makes an attractive visual contribution to seascape. It forms part of a group of coastguard related structures with the terrace to the south.
