The Battle of Prosperous took place in 1599 during the Nine Years' War in County Kildare, Ireland, where Irish forces under Hugh O'Neill defeated an English army led by Lord Deputy Sir Henry Bagenal. The victory was significant as it weakened English control in the region and boosted Irish morale in their resistance against English rule.
