Three stage weir on River Dodder, c.1800, built of large granite kerb stones on slight arc. Each tier approximately 4 metres long with an overall drop of 4 metres.
This weir, in a secluded location below a bridge, is a particularly well built example, incorporating squared stone blocks to form a graceful arc. Visually enhances the area despite now being obsolete.
This does not grant access. Most recorded buildings are privately owned; view them only from public ground unless the owner allows entry.
