Freestanding cast-iron water pump, erected c. 1870, with banded shaft, fluted neck and cap with finial. Curved handle. Set back from road having rubble and concrete wall to site.
This water pump exhibits artistic detailing in its design, with an elegantly curved handle, banded shaft and finial. It is an interesting and notable feature on the roadscape and offers a reminder of a time before domestic running water.
