Freestanding cast-iron waterpump, c.1900, comprising cylindrical shaft with horizontal banding, fluted head having spout, curvilinear ‘cow-tail’ handle with finial, and fluted domed capping having finial. Now disused. Set back from line of road in shared grounds.
This waterpump is of considerable importance, representing an early-surviving artefact of cast-iron work, incorporating fine detailing of some artistic interest, and attesting to a period before mains water supply.
