Freestanding cast-iron water pump, installed c.1870, having carved limestone trough to front (north). Banded shaft with fluted neck, spout and cap with cow tail handle. Rubble stone enclosing wall with stone slab paving.
An attractive roadside feature with an unusual triangular carved limestone trough. It is a fine example of a mass produced cast-iron item which was enhanced by simple artistic details including banding and fluting.
