Water pump in Kilmashogue has a grand lion’s head up front and a newer tap at the side doing the dispensing. The lion looks like the father who handed over the business but still comes in every morning to frighten the customers.

This water fountain is still in use by people visiting the nearby cemetery. As a working piece of street furniture it lends character to an area of recent redevelopment.
