Freestanding cast-iron water pump, erected c.1890, with banded shaft, having fluting to cap and neck, with finial and cow's tail handle terminating in ball. Set on concrete platform with painted rendered boundary walls.
The employment of artistic detailing enlivens this otherwise functional water pump, which serves as a reminder of the important social and functional role they played in nineteenth and twentieth century Ireland.
