Cast-iron water pump, erected c.1870, with banded shaft, fluted neck, cap with finial and foundry mark. The spout has foliate decoration where it meets the neck. Recessed back from road and bounded on three sides by rendered walls.
This cast-iron water pump was cast by John Collins Ltd., Shop Street, Drogheda. It has an unusual level of artistic detailing including banding, fluting, and foliate decoration to the spout. The pump is located close to the crossroads, and makes a positive contribution to the streetscape.
