Straddling steep glen and upper millpond of Blarney river at Monard. Substantial stone railway viaduct, cut stone with prominent voussoirs; seven arches, with piers decreasing in height up side of valley. Built for Great Southern and Western Railway by William Dargan in 1849 (Creedon 1985, 6). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
