Seven-arch limestone built viaduct, opened 1849, carrying Cork-Dublin railroad over Blarney River. Rock-faced rusticated piers, walls, parapet walls and cut stone string course. Segmental arches with rock-faced rusticated voussoirs and ashlar soffits.

Highly imposing structure fine example of nineteenth-century craftsmanship and engineering, typical of high standards employed in railway construction. One of group of railway structures in area. Echoes style and design of many nearby railway bridges on Cork-Dublin train line. Rustication highlights and enhances formal properties of arches, and makes form highly legible from distance. Built by William Dargan for the Great Southern and Western Railway.
