Detached three-bay single-storey former market house, date 1843, now in use as library. Single-bay single-storey recessed extension to right, c. 1990. Hipped artificial slate roof with central gablet, cut-stone eaves course and clay ridge crestings. Cut-limestone walls, channelled to ground floor, with quoins, voussoirs, impost mouldings and having inset plaque and crest to gablet. Elliptical-headed openings with fixed timber windows and timber sheeted double leaf doors. Plaque inscribed ‘This house was built by Thos Browne, Esq. Newgrove. A.D. 1843.’
