Toberacran

Ó Danachair (1955, 210) recorded the following details about this holy well; 'Tobereracran on 1840 map. Now a small batch of swamp from which a clear stream flows. "Toberacran. Toberacran, also known as Gortacrank, is a holy well traditionally associated with Saint Cronan, a 6th-century Irish saint known for founding several monastic sites in the region. The well was once a site of pilgrimage with stations for prayer, and its clear stream was believed to have curative properties, particularly for skin ailments and general well-being.
