Marked on the 1912 'OS 6-inch' map as 'Tober Maura'. It is situated in a hollow near a mill race. It is approached by a line of stone flag steps which curve down a slope. The well itself is not lined. Compiled by: Claire Breen Date of upload: 12 July 2012

Tober Maura is associated with Saint Maura, a 5th-century Irish saint known for her asceticism and healing miracles. The well was traditionally visited for curing eye ailments and general healing, with pilgrims often walking barefoot to the site as part of the ritual.
