Structure

An irregular deposit (L 1.1m min.; Wth 0.48m; D 0.085m) of four pieces of brushwood (diam. 0.025-0.04m) and an ex situ fragment of a wooden artefact (01E0477:1) The artefact is part of a perforated object of ash. The wood is in good condition and set in poorly humified Sphagnum peat with Eriophorum and some ericaceous remains. Two unrecovered parts of the same artefact, forming part of SMR OF010-113----, are located 14m to the SW. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 2001. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
