What is recorded here

The stone sculptures consist of one carved head which was used as a corbel in the Romanesque Church of Letter (OF037-002001-) and the other is a Hood moulding terminal (OF037-013003-) with Hiberno-Romanesque decoration. Both of these pieces were inserted into the W gable of Cadamstown Church in the 19th-century. Recent replastering of the W gable revealed Early Christian cross inscribed slab (OF037-013002-). Cross referenced with OF037-002005. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Offaly' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997).
