What is recorded here

Flight of steps, c. 1860, with cast-iron hand rails, now concreted.
Though now concreted, these steps form part of an interesting group with similar nineteenth-century paving schemes. Stepped routes such as these are found throughout the city, and contribute to its unique character. These paving schemes utilised cut limestone, which in many cases has been replaced or covered with concrete.
