What is recorded here

Loumanagh South lost a standing stone in a Parish Priest's field when someone removed and broke it about two years before Bowman wrote in 1934. It may have marked a boundary, a burial, a meeting place or simply caught the eye of the person first named. Its disappearance is not a small event. The field kept a stone upright long enough for people to notice, then took it back into ordinary soil and memory.
