Standing stone in Killogrone

Upslope from KE080-051----, on the E bank of the river, in dense forestry. A group of three huts set within an old field system. An oval enclosure, 6.5m in diameter, possibly a cattle-pen, occurs on the cliff-edge. Henry noted a standing stone (KE080-052007-) at this location (1957, 79). None of these features were identified, though there are some amorphous mounds in the forest. Most of the field walls have collapsed, leaving in places a series of individual uprights. Perhaps one of these was mistakenly identified as a standing stone. The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J.
