What is recorded here

Kilcaskan North holds a seven-foot stone, wide enough to block a doorway but tall enough to touch the sky. It stood on M. Lyon's land when Bowman measured it in 1934, yet even that clear fact has blurred into forgetfulness. The exact spot has vanished, leaving behind a ghost of a marker rather than a marker itself. Perhaps someone set it beside a path, a boundary or a dead person's name. More likely it marked nothing at all, which is why it resisted memory. A stone that size does not appear by chance, but people stopped repeating the reason it stood.

Bowman (1934, 209) recorded standing stone on M. Lyon's land; '...2ft 1in by 7ft 3in'. Exact location not known.
