Dromcumper More is a fulacht fia, a cooking site where heated stones dropped into water brought food to the boil. It belongs to the ancient Irish landscape and may have fed travellers, workers or ceremony. The exact spot has faded from memory, but the function remains clear: heat, water and sustenance.

Bowman (1934, 213) recorded a fulacht fiadh 'in J. Ahern's, 80 yards N of fort' (12441). No visible surface trace in area inspected N of ringfort, but exact location not known. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000).
