Glanturkin held two prostrate pillar-stones four or five feet high at an old burial place until quite recently. They lay broken or buried rather than standing, perhaps marking a family line or a forgotten boundary. The stones disappeared or were forgotten before anyone measured them, leaving only the shape of what was lost.

According to Power (1940, 100) 'two prostrate pillar-stones 4 feet or 5 feet high, lay 'at an old burial place' (CO100-052---) 'till quite recently'. Exact location not known. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 2: East and South Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1994).
