Dr Keenan, in his notes on county Longford, refers to ‘a small Carn 24 feet [7.3m] in diameter and 4 feet [1.2m] high with a pillar stone 3 feet [0.9m] high on top of it’ in Creeve townland (Devaney 1981, 97). Neither the cairn (LF014-127----) nor possible standing stone were located. Compiled by: Caimin O'Brien Date of upload: 14 November 2011

Likely dating to the Bronze Age, the standing stone may have been part of a ritual or funerary monument. Such stones often held symbolic or ceremonial significance, possibly linked to territorial markers or ancestor veneration.
