St Kieran's Well is associated with St Kieran of Saighir, a 6th-century Irish saint known for founding monastic sites in County Offaly, and is traditionally linked to cures for skin ailments and general healing. The presence of a holy tree nearby suggests a continuity of sacred landscape features, blending early Christian and pre-Christian traditions.
