St. Catherines Church

Situated on level ground in the village of Corofin. A well-maintained church, built between 1715 and 1720 by Cathleen Keightley and restored in the early 19th century with a grant from the Board of First Fruits when a steeple and vestry were added (Swinfen 1992, 116). A rectangular graveyard (CL017-116002-) surrounds the church which is now used as an interpretative centre. The original Tau Cross (CL017-116003-) from Kilnaboy is housed in the centre.
