Kilpipe Castle vanished beneath a gentle south-facing slope, leaving only a rectangular enclosure and a field still named castle field. The exact owners escaped memory, perhaps deliberately, because the land itself stopped repeating their names. What remains is a ghost shape on old survey lines, waiting for someone to walk the grass and ask which family disappeared.

Situated on a gentle S-facing slope. A castle and a rectangular enclosure (WI039-013001-) marked on the first edition OS 6-inch map. According to Price (1936, 52) the field was known locally as the 'castle field', although it was not clear what family may have owned the castle. Not visible at ground level. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wicklow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997).
