1798 Lacey Brothers Memorial

Two Lacey brothers bled into Wicklow soil during the 1798 uprising, and the memorial still marks the place where their youth broke against British power. The stone does not explain much, but it refuses to let the event fade into a generic rebel myth. They were young enough to be reckless and old enough to know the risk, which makes their death harder to dismiss and easier to remember.
