Shown on Down Survey (1655-6) map. Marked 'Site of Castle' on 1837 'OS 6-inch' map. Approximately rectangular area (c. 30m x c. 30m) planted with trees. Foundation course (min. L 4m) of boulders exposed in field drain at SE.
A local castle; wider significance not recorded.
