Sheepfold

In rough pasture, in a wooded hollow, flanked by a ridge of outcropping rock to the N and S. The remains of a rectangular hut site (5.1m E-W; 2.8m N-S) defined by a collapsed drystone wall (T 0.6m; H 0.6m) at W, by the vertical face (H 1.7m) of outcropping rock at E and S and by some lower outcropping rock at N. Collapsed drystone walling also occurs on top of the outcropping rock along the N, E and S sides. The stone wall at W is moss and grass covered. The interior is uneven and strewn with rubble. The whole area is obscured by trees and bushes. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry.
