Shackleton Mill in Woodlands reached seven storeys, then kept adding extensions on every side for roughly 160 years. That’s a long time for a building to keep saying, ‘Breathe in, lads, I’m letting out another seam.’
Two-bay seven-storey mill, c.1800, with recessed three-bay seven-storey wing attached to west. Extended on all sides c.1810 to c.1970.ROOF: Double pitched slate roof. OPENINGS: Square headed; stone reveals and cills; timber sash and casement windows; timber tongue and grooved doors.
