What is recorded here
Single-stage weir, c.1775. Upstream sluice and sluice gates on south side of the river.
An extensive, relatively intact weir having strong associations with the Anna Liffey Mills on the north bank- a reminder of the time when most industrial power was provided by water mills and how the waterways were controlled to this end.
This does not grant access. Most recorded buildings are privately owned; view them only from public ground unless the owner allows entry.
