Woodville, an 18th-century mansion on the south bank of the Liffey, occupied the lost site of Ballydowd Castle before disappearing entirely. The river keeps the castle hidden beneath soil and water while the mansion vanished from human memory. What remains is a ghost address, a place named but no longer visible, where the Liffey still flows over rooms no one can point to.
