Detached L-plan three-bay single-storey former school, built 1887, having gabled porch to front (north-west corner). Later in use as museum, now vacant. Pitched slate roofs with rendered chimneystack and cast-iron rainwater goods. Painted and lime-washed rendered walls with plaque to porch gable. Square-headed openings with six-over-six timber sliding sash and casement windows with concrete sills. Square-headed door opening with timber battened door and a flight of concrete steps. Enclosed by rubble stone walls and piers with wrought-iron gate.

The building's modest style and domestic scale is typical of rural primary schools which were built during the nineteenth century. It retains many original features, and is an attractive road side addition. It is an interesting reminder of a time when the island population was large enough to require a school.
