Redhills Methodist Church

Freestanding gable-fronted single-cell Methodist church, built c.1870, with advanced single-bay porch to front and three-bay side elevation. Pitched slate roof with clay ridge tiles and uPVC rainwater goods. Roughcast rendered walls over smooth rendered plinth. Round-headed windows with plain reveals and stone sills, six-over-six timber sliding-sash windows with arced panes to upper register. Plain interior with simple historic benches. Set back from the streetline behind recent fence.

Methodist church retaining its essential form as a simple unpretentious structure, typical of this rural type. The round-headed windows and treatment of the glazing bars in a classical style are of good quality and add interest to this simple hall church. The building is an important element of the historic environment of Redhills and attests to the non-confomist tradition in the county.
