Detached four-bay two-storey former glebe house, built 1782. Rectangular-plan, pedimented entrance breakfront to north, two-bay two-storey wing to west, single-bay addition to south-east. Pitched slate roofs, clay ridge tiles, stone verge coping to gables, red brick chimneystacks, carved stone caps, clay pots; cast-iron half-round gutters on corbelled eaves course, circular cast-iron downpipes. Painted smooth rendered ruled-and-lined walling to north elevation, string course to pediment, painted roughcast-render to south, east and west. Square-headed window openings, tooled limestone sills, painted timber six-over-six sliding sash windows, three-over-six to first floor east wing. Round-headed door opening, tooled limestone Gibbsian surround, painted timber door with nine raised-and-fielded panels flanked by sidelights, plain-glazed fanlight, entrance approached by flight of five tooled limestone steps flanked by sweeping rendered handrails, tooled limestone coping. House situated in own grounds, opening onto gravelled drive; rubble stone coach house to west; accessed via avenue from road to north-west. Gate lodge at entrance.

Designed by Francis Johnston, this former glebe house presents all the characteristic elegance of the late eighteenth-century architectural style, classically proportioned with a fine Gibbsian doorcase. It is an attractive substantial house with architectural significance. The structure also holds social significance to the area; and the survival of the historic fenestration enhances the elevations. The retention of the stone coach house and the former gate lodge contribute to the setting and form a group of important structures which contribute to the architectural heritage of County Louth.
