Holy well in Templemichael — Report the wrong picture

Northeast of the Beann in Templemichael, the well of St. Martin still waits beneath the grass, though the old road that once carried pilgrims to its water has vanished without a trace. Lynch wrote in 1909 that the site was formerly much frequented, suggesting a steady stream of bodies seeking grace or relief before silence took the path. The water may have touched fevered skin or washed hesitant hands, but that human traffic has dissolved into the earth, leaving only the well and the memory of movement around it.

Described by Lynch (1909-11, 190) as following; 'Northeast of the Beann is the well of St. Martin, formerly much frequented.
