Structure

A deposit (Wth 4.05m; D 0.32m min.) of twenty pieces of mixed brushwood and a single light roundwood in the drain face. The material is irregularly laid, up to three pieces deep at the NE end and one piece deep at the SW extent. A portion of this site continues below the water level. This site lies in moderately humified Sphagnum peat with fibrous roots. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 2001. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
