Structure

A single piece of brushwood (L 0.72m; diam. 0.035m) with a worked end and evidence for branch-trimming. The wood is in good condition and set in moderately humified Sphagnum peat with some Eriophorum and fibrous roots. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 2001. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
