What is recorded here

No one in Cloghlucas South remembers the stone, yet it stood seven feet tall and leaned north like a tired sentinel. Its square edges measured barely eight inches across, small enough for one person to embrace but tall enough to block the horizon. It vanished without a crack or ceremony, leaving behind only absence and a forgotten line in an old ledger.

Stone (H 7ft) recorded here in 1932 (NMI). It was square in section '...its breadth varying between 81/4in and 9in along the greater part of its length' (ibid.). Leaning to N. No visible surface trace remains. Not known locally. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
