Structure

An irregular, dispersed deposit of four pieces of mixed brushwood, a degraded timber fragment and a peg (Wth 1.02m; D 0.23m). The brushwood is to the S side of the site and the timber and the peg (diam. 0.025m), are to the N. Toolmarks survive on the peg and on a piece of brushwood. The wood is in poor condition and in well-humified Sphagnum peat with fibrous roots. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 2001. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
