Structure

Fifteen pieces of light brushwood, occasional twigs and a possible stake (Wth 1.46m; D 0.36m). The deposit varies in density and is up to two pieces deep. Some of the elements are parallel but in general the wood is irregularly laid. The stake (diam. 0.035m) is set at 45°. The site lies in moderately humified Sphagnum peat with Calluna. The site is directly above a central sighting of SMR OF010-161----. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 2001. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
