Mound in Rahard

Mound

What is recorded here

Mound in Rahard sits at the heart of a raised rath in County Meath, a low grass-covered dome no taller than a knee and five metres across. A shallow ditch circles the mound, marking the centre of a place where people may have gathered, hidden or remembered long before the grass softened its edges.
At the centre of the raised rath (ME009-036----). This is a low grass-covered mound (diam. of base 5m; H 0.4m) surrounded by a slight ditch or fosse (Wth of base 1m; ext. D 0.2m) at the centre of the platform. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload; 31 October 2018
