Field boundary in Owenbeg

In a level expanse of heather- and sedge-covered cutaway blanket bog bordered at S by an E–W bog road. This record refers to a field boundary which was noted in this area in the early 1990’s. It was listed in the RMP (1995) as ‘field wall -pre-bog’ at IG 138550 330740 (equating to ITM 538515 830747): the source of this record is unknown and there is no field report from the 1990’s on file. The location as depicted on the 1913 OS 6-inch map is largely featureless and it is likely that the co-ordinates recorded in the RMP (1995) were approximate only.
