What is recorded here

Moylagh is a village where a cross vanished from the church graveyard, leaving behind a memory shaped like a disc with a cross on one side and a quatrefoil on the other. That much is known. What is not known is when it disappeared, who removed it, or whether it was broken, buried, sold or simply forgotten. The absence is the strange part. A place can lose a cross and continue pretending the loss never happened.
The head of a solid disc-headed cross (diam c. 0.48m) with a cross on one side and a sunken quatrefoil on the other that was in the graveyard (ME015-032001-) of Moylagh medieval parish church (SMR file) can no longer be found. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of revised upload: 27 January, 2015
