Mangerton Mountain still holds a small rectangular hut site beside a rath, its collapsed drystone wall rising higher at the north than the south. The slope faces southeast, catching light and sheltering a place where someone may have lived, hidden or tended the land before memory faded.

In rough pasture, on the SE-facing slope of Mangerton Mountain. The remains of a possible rectangular hut site (2.6m N-S; 2m E-W) defined by a collapsed drystone wall (T 0.6m; H 1.1m) which is higher at N than at S (H 0.2m). This possible hut site abuts the N bank of a rath (KE085-006----), externally. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry.
