Kilpatrick is an abandoned underground passage hidden beneath a Cork field. Men levelled the outer rampart of the local fort and found a narrow entrance dropping from the fosse. They took stones from the passage and closed the hole, erasing the opening but not the purpose it once served. The earth keeps that much of the trade secret.

In ringfort (CO024-11601-). According to Bowman (1934, 62), when outer rampart of fort was levelled 'a Man-made underground passage was discovered on the side, entrance to it from the fosse. The stones were removed and the hole closed in'. No visible surface trace. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
