Fairy forts are human places misnamed because people stopped remembering they were human. In Loumanagh South a round enclosure still holds its shape on a south-facing slope, about thirty metres across, with one side raised to level the ground. Someone built that circle, lived beside it or kept it clear, then left it to grass and rain. The fairies enter only after the humans disappear from the story.

Levelled; circular saucer-shaped area (internal diam. 27m E-W; 26m N-S) defined by low rise (ext. H 0.36m) E->N and by slight scarp elsewhere. Interior raised on S side to compensate for hillslope.
