Enclosure in Knockpatrick — Report the wrong picture

Nine concentric earth banks spiral inside a fifty-five metre circle at Knockpatrick, inviting people to imagine repeated ceremonies or forgotten engineering. The monument sits slightly downslope rather than claiming the hilltop, suggesting humility or adaptation to water flow. Trees now line the outer bank while field boulders fill the shallow fosse, blending ancient intent with later landscaping.

Circular area (diam. 55m) surrounded by a low bank planted with trees, and a shallow external fosse filled with field boulders. Nine low concentric earthen banks cover the interior. Monument has the general appearance of having been landscaped. Monument lies slightly downslope, rather than enclosing the summit of the hill. Date of upload: 8 September 2016
