Fairy forts are not for humans. They belong to the hidden people who still own the damp ground beneath Limerick pasture. The ring measures forty metres across, a perfect circle in land that does not prefer perfection. Its name is a warning, not a joke.
Situated in low-lying, poorly-drained, gently undulating pasture. Indicated with hachures as an embanked circular enclosure (diam. c. 40m) on the 1840 OS 6-inch map.
